Highlights 2024

Within the Rohingya response, IOM, DRC, and CARE implemented Site Management (SM) programming across 17 Refugee camps, reaching approximately 500,000 individuals, with support from ECHO, Australian Aid,
Canada, UK Aid, and USAID. In 2024, 178 staff and Rohingya volunteers received feedback from the affected population.
The SM program underwent major changes in 2024, including the transfer of site management of Camps 13 and 16 from CARE to IOM in September 2024. Key challenges included a major fire in Camp 13, a damaging monsoon season, an influx of Rohingya refugees fleeing conflict in Myanmar, and increased humanitarian needs due to escalating violence by organized groups. Additionally, political and civil unrest in Bangladesh (June–August 2024) severely restricted communication, internet access, and humanitarian operations in the camps. Despite these challenges, the program continued to scale up efforts to address the needs in IOM Area of Responsibility (AoR).

Key Recommendations

• Strengthen capacity-building, ownership, and awareness-raising of service providers, particularly Sector Referral Focal Points, to improve referral, response and resolution of feedback.

• Closely monitor and evaluate partners and service provider’s engagement with the CFM to ensure consistent high-quality responses to communities.

• Increase involvement, buy-in, and active engagement of Sectors and Coordinators invovled in referrals and conduct regular review of CFM reports to identify gaps and needs. Take swift action to ensure that feedback monitoring in real time supports rapid responses of emerging issues.
