Outlook
The Ganges-Padma remained steady at upstream while the Brahmaputra-Jamuna receded further at almost all the points. The Ganges-Padma is likely to register slight fall while the Brahmaputa-jamuna is likely to recede further. As such, the situation in the districts of Chapai-Nawabganj; Rajbari, Manikganj, Munshiganj and Narayanganj are likely to still remain unchanged.
Rainfall
Very light to Light rainfall at a few places over the Brahmaputra, Ganges and in the South Eastern Hill basin, Light to moderate rainfall at many places over the Meghna basin has been recorded during the last 24 hours ending at 9 A.M. today. Significant amount of rainfall experienced during this period, was: 19.0 mm at Sylhet,18.0 mm at Kanaighat,13.4 mm at Durgapur, 11.0 mm at Barguna, and 10.0 mm at Sunamganj.
General River Condition
The Ganges-Padma registered further rise at all points except Panka. The Brahmaputra-Jamuna registered further fall at all the points except at Aricha. Other rivers in these two basins registered rise and fall. In most of the rivers in the Meghna and the South Eastern Hill basin recorded fall. Out of 85 monitoring stations of the country 29 points recorded rise, 40 points recorded fall and 2 points remained steady of which 6 points are flowing above danger level during last 24 hours ending at 6-00 A.M. today. Brahmaputra Basin
The Brahmaputra receded further by 9 cm at Noonkhawa, 17 cm at Chilmari. The Jamuna also registered further fall by 15 cm at Bahadurabad, 6 cm at Serajganj while it recorded slight rise at Aricha. The river is flowing above danger level by 23 cm at Aricha. The Dharla recorded fall by 17 cm at Kurigram. The Teesta registered further fall by 10 cm at Dalia. The Old Brahmaputra registered further rise by 5 cm at Jamalpur while it recorded slight fall at Mymensingh. The Buriganga at Dhaka recorded further rise by 9 cm. The Balu observed further rise by 13 cm at Demra and is flowing above danger level by 22 cm. The Lakhya at Narayanganj also registered further rise by 12 cm and is flowing 30 cm above danger level. The Turag at Mirpur observed rise by 9 cm The Tongi Khal at Tongi receded by 8 cm. The Kaliganga at Taraghat registered further rise by 4 cm. The Dhaleshwari at Jagir receded by 4 cm while it recorded rise by 11 cm at Rekabi Bazar. All the rivers in this basin are flowing below their respective danger levels except the Jamuna at Aricha, the Balu at Demra and the Lakhya at Narayanganj.
Ganges Basin
The Ganges-Padma registered further rise by 4 cm at Rajshahi, 3 cm at Hardinge Bridge,7 cm Goalundo and 15 cm Bhagyakul while it remained steady at Pankha. The river is flowing above danger level by 56 cm at Pankha, 25 cm at Goalundo and by 23 cm at Bhagyakul. The Karatoa at Panchagarh recorded rise by 30 cm. The Punarbhaba at Dinajpur recorded rise by 4 cm. The Tangon at Thakurgaon remained steady. The Upper Atrai at Bhusirbandar recorded fall by 5 cm. The Mohananda at Chapai-Nawabganj registered further rise by 6 cm. The little Jamuna at Naogaon recorded fall by 12 cm. The Atrai at Mohadevpur recorded rise by 15 cm. The Gorai registered further rise by 6 cm at Gorai Rly Bridge. The Kumar at Faridpur registered slight rise. The ArialKhan at Madaripur recorded further rise by 12 cm. All the rivers in this basin are flowing below their respective danger levels except Padma at Pankha, Goalundo & Bhagyakul.
Meghna Basin
The Surma observed fall by 17 cm at Kanaighat and by 6 cm each at Sylhet and Sunamganj. The Kushiyara registered further fall by 23 cm at Amalshid, 17 cm at Sheola and slight fall at Sherpur. The Sarigowain at Sari hat recorded rise by 21 cm. The Manu observed rise by 29 cm Manu Rly Bridge while it registered fall by 5 cm at Moulvi Bazar. The Khowai observed fall by 24 cm at Ballah and by 10 cm by Habiganj. The Bhugai at Nakuagaon registered further fall by 33 cm. The Jadukata at Lorergarh recorded fall by 18 cm. The Someswari at Durgapur observed slight rise. The Meghna at Bhairab Bazar recorded slight fall. The Gumti at Comilla recorded sharp fall by 65 cm. All the rivers in this basin are flowing below their respective danger levels.
South Eastern Hill Basin
The Muhuri recorded fall by 32 cm at Parshuram. The Halda at Narayanhat recorded slight fall. The Sangu recorded fall by 20 cm at Bandarban and by 8 cm at Dohazari. The Matamuhuri at Lama recorded fall by 5 cm and by 3 cm at Chiringa. The Feni at Ramgarh recorded fall by 19 cm. The Ichamati at Thandarchori also recorded fall by 21 cm. All the rivers in this basin are flowing below their respective danger levels.
