Proportional Morbidity

Acute Respiratory Infections (24.4%), Injury and wounds (2.4%), and Acute Watery Diarrhea (2.4%) were the diseases and health conditions with the highest proportional morbidity this week.

Upsurges/Outbreak

Varicella: There has been an increase in weekly trends of Varicella cases since Epi week 2 and a total of 9 656 cumulative cases reported from Epi week 1-10, 2025. This week, there were 1 812 varicella cases, a 21% decreased from the previous week (2 298 cases)

  • Transmission and upsurge season for the disease is currently ongoing

Cholera: The Cholera outbreak has been controlled, and zero cholera caseload has been sustained in the past four weeks including this week. The cholera outbreak that began on 23 June 2024 continued into 2025, persisting for 32, marking the longest surge in the past 5 years. This brings to a total of 581 reported culture-confirmed cholera cases to date.

Dengue: The upsurge has ended, and transmission is controlled, a total of 299 cases have so far been recorded, with 28.4% type B and 2.7% type C in 2025. This week 17 confirmed dengue cases were reported

The upsurge season has ended and the normal endemic trends (<50 cases per week) are restored.
