Current Situation: The well marked low persists. Maritime ports of Chittagong, Cox's Bazar and Mongla have been advised to keep hoisted distant cautionary signal number one (r) one. Rain/ T. showers accompanied by tempo. Gusty/squally wind is likely to occur at several places over the country. Dry spell prevails over the country. All the rivers are flowing well below their respective danger levels.
SPECIAL WEATHER BULLETIN (Date: October 31, 2007 at 0930 BST)
THE WELL MARKED LOW OVER WEST CENTRAL BAY AND ADJOINING SOUTH WEST BAY OF ANDHRA - TAMILNADU COAST PERSISTS OVER THE SAME AREA AT 06 AM TODAY (31 OCTOBER, 2007). IT IS LIKELY TO MOVE IN A WEST-NORTHWESTERLY DIRECTION AND WEAKEN FURTHER GRADUALLY BY GIVING PRECIPITATION.
MARITIME PORTS OF CHITTAGONG, COX'S BAZAR AND MONGLA HAVE BEEN ADVISED TO KEEP HOISTED DISTANT CAUTIONARY SIGNAL NUMBER ONE (R) ONE.
ALL FISHING BOATS AND TRAWLERS OVER NORTH BAY AND DEEP SEA HAVE BEEN ADVISED TO REMAIN CLOSE TO THE COAST AND PROCEED WITH CAUTION AND NOT TO VENTURE INTO THE DEEP SEA TILL FURTHER NOTICE.

Synoptic Situation: The well-marked low over West central Bay and adjoining Southwest Bay of Andhra - Tamilnadu coast persists over the same area. It is likely to move North-westerly direction and weaken gradually by giving precipitation. Its associated troughs extend to North Bay.
Forecast: Rain/ T. showers accompanied by tempo. Gusty/squally wind is likely to occur at one or two places over Dhaka, Khulna, Barisal and Chittagong divisions and weather may remain mainly dry with partly cloudy sky elsewhere over the country.
Day and night temperature may remain nearly unchanged over the country.

- All the rivers in the Brahmaputra, the Ganges, the Meghna & South- Eastern Hill basins observed fall except Teesta at Kaunia.
- All the rivers are flowing below their respective danger levels.
* Danger level at a river location is the level above which it is likely that the flood may cause damages to nearby crops and homesteads. In a river having no embankment, danger level is about annual average flood level. In an embanked river, danger level is fixed slightly below design flood level of the embankment.
