Current Situation: Monsoon is less active over Bangladesh and moderate elsewhere over North Bay. The prevailing flash flood situation in the north-eastern part of the country is likely to improve further. The Surma at Kanaighat is flowing above its danger level this morning. The Surma registered fall by 23 cm at Kanighat, 16 cm at Sylhet & by 14 cm at Sunamganj and is flowing above its danger level by 14 cm at Kanaighat this morning.

Synoptic Situation: Yesterdays low over west central Bay and adjoining northwest Bay concentrated into a well-marked low over the same area. It is likely to intensify further. Monsoon axis runs through Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, West Bengal and the center of the low thence northeastwards to Assam across central part of Bangladesh. Monsoon is less active over Bangladesh and moderate elsewhere over North Bay. Forecast: Light to moderate rain/T. showers accompanied by tempo. gusty/squally wind is likely to occur at one or two places over Dhaka , Rajshahi, Khulna , Barisal, Chittagong and Sylhet divisions. OUTLOOK: The prevailing flash flood situation in the north-eastern part of the country is likely to improve further.
RAINFALL: Nil rainfall at most of the places with moderately heavy to heavy fall at one or two places over the country have been recorded during the last 24 hours ending at 6 am today. Significant rainfall has been recorded as 64.0 mm at Bandarban and 42.0 mm at Dalia during the same period.
