Financial status: Running cost $ 29 100/year
On the Move

Finally, we will be able to launch the mobile dental project this spring as we received the vehicle from UK.

This project has been the team's dream since they set up the dental clinic in Barda two years ago. We have provided refugees with the opportunity of free dental treatment and have led a number of seminars of public dental health education. We believe that the dental vehicle will be powerfull, used beyond the present capacity of our dental clinic.

Barda is a refugee populated city near to Nagorno-Karabagh. There are 700,000 refugees in Azerbaijan and more than two million over Caucasus region, where the different people groups suffered from ethnic conflicts since the early '90. There are more than 51 distinctive people groups in the Caucasus. We have vision to heal the pains and hurts of the vulnerable in the region from their hardships.

Presently, we work as a team consisting of two dentists and two nurses and one manager for both the Barda clinic and mobile. We need a dentist to train our local dentists, dental health educator for our public education project and an administrator for the dental program.

A few organizations worked together to send the vehicle to Azerbaijan. Dent-aid initiated to purchase and remodeled the dental vehicle. The finance to purchase a Land Rover, a four wheel drive vehicle and some other equipment for the project, was provided through donors in UK and USA, while all other set of portable dental equipment came through UK Rotary club. Also finally the shipping cost of the vehicle from UK to Azerbaijan was met by the BP office in Azerbaijan. We sincerely appreciate for all the contributions made by those organizations for this project to come to a reality.
