Australia - Tropical Cyclone FOURTEEN (GDACS, JTWC, BOM, media) (ECHO Daily Flash of 06 February 2020)

Tropical Cyclone FOURTEEN formed over south-eastern Indian Ocean on 5 February. On 6 February its centre was located approximately 200 km north-west of Broome Town (Kimberley Region, Western Australia State), with maximum sustained winds of 65 km/h (tropical storm).

FOURTEEN is forecast to continue west-southwest before turning south, making landfall on 8 February over the northern coast of Pilbara Region (Western Australia).

The Australian Government Bureau of Meteorology issued an alert for gales across the northern coastal area between Wallal Downs to Onslow Town, and a flood watch for the Regions of Pilbara, Gascoyne, and north and west Kimberley.

Over the next 48 hours, strong winds and heavy rain are forecast across the north-west Western Australia (including Pilbara, northern Gascoyne and western Kimberley).
