Armenia - Snow avalanche (CatNat, media, NOAA-CPC) (ECHO Daily Flash of 13 March 2025)

  • On 11 March, a snow avalanche occurred in northeast Armenia resulting in casualties.
  • According to media, as of 12 March, one person died, seven were injured and one have been rescued after being swept away at the summit of Aragats, an extinct volcano that is the country's highest peak in Aragatsotn province, in north-eastern Armenia.
  • For the next 48 hours, dry conditions are forecast across the country.
