DES says that the main reason of the fires was shooting from Azeri side - 52.3%. Tens of thousand of hectares of pasture in the piedmont regions were also destroyed. Spread of fire over the forest region was prevented. In total, losses make up 3.5 bln AMD.

Disregard of security measures of local residents served another reason of fires. 6 criminal cases were initiated against fire suspects. Fire fines have been raised 80 times in relation to salary for population and 150 times for officials.
