A wildfire, started on 30 January, has been burning close to El Bolsón town, Río Negro province, central Argentina, northern Patagonia resulting in casualties and evacuations. The Global Wildfire Information System (GWIS) recorded a burnt area of 1,748 ha.
According to media, one person died and more than 800 people have been evacuated and several houses have been destroyed by the event.
Over the next 48 hours, according to the JRC Global Wildfire Information System (GWIS), the fire danger forecast is from moderate high to very high over the interested area.
