Since 18 September, several forest fires have been burning across Buenos Aires, and Cordoba Provinces (central Argentina).
National authorities report 2 people were injured during fire-fighting operations and several communities across Cordoba have been evacuated. Some road infrastructure have been damaged. Whilst the forest fire in Buenos Aires has been exstinguished, there are still 5 active fires burning in Cordoba.
According to the JRC Global Wildfire Information System (GWIS), the fire danger forecast on 24-25 September is from very high to extreme over eastern Cordoba, and from moderate to high over Buenos Aires.
From 25 September, moderate rain with thunderstorms are forecast over most of central-eastern Argentina, including Cordoba and Buenos Aires.
