WHOLE ISLANDS DEVASTATED

After storming through the Caribbean and leaving a trail of devastation in its wake, Hurricane Irma has finally relented.

Since last Tuesday, Hurricane Irma has wreaked havoc in the Caribbean, flattening homes on St Martin, Barbuda, Puerto Rico, the Dominican Republic, Haiti and Cuba. Florida was the last to see the wrath of this ferocious storm.

A highly-trained ShelterBox Response Team has been deployed to understand how we can help the families who have lost everything.

500 ShelterKits are now heading to St. Kitts and the team will be setting up a base of operations in Antigua. Our focus now is on the first islands that were affected by Hurricane Irma which includes Barbuda, where helping families who are returning to the island will be a priority.

We’ve supported communities in several of these places before, including Haiti after the massive earthquake in 2010 and Hurricane Matthew, which hit last year. We also have a strong network of contacts, partners and Rotary connections in the region.

We urgently need your support to reach the most vulnerable. Please act now to help families devastated by hurricanes and flooding in the Caribbean, as well as other disasters around the world.
