From IOM Pres Briefing Notes
As of 21 March, IOM has provided return
assistance to 3,743 Angolan refugees from the border area of Sinjembela
to a new camp located inland at Nangweshi. So far, IOM and UNHCR have transferred
more than 6,500 refugees with some 3,500 still remaining in the border
area. Road conditions between Sinjembela and Nangweshi have worsened due
to the ongoing rainy season. To increase the overall effectiveness of the
operation, IOM has hired extra trucks. A total of thirteen trucks are now
rotating on a daily basis between Sinjembela and Nangweshi.
