Luanda -Several families have been left homeless in various wards of Luanda province as result of heavy windy rain on Monday night in Luanda city.
The spokesman for the Civil Protection and Fire Service, Faustino Sebastião, told Angop that in Luanda’s high density suburb of Sambizanga, two families were left without a home due to the fall of a tree on two houses.
The same situation occurred in Belas Municipality, in Dangereux, Calemba-2 and Samba wards where the roofs of many houses were destroyed by the windy rain.
In this municipality, the so-called “Ponte Molhada” bridge, in Talatona ward, that links the two sides has gone out of service for light vehicles as the rain water submerged it .
According to official sources in Viana municipality, more than 500 residents are facing power cut due to a fall of a tree on the medium voltage transmission line.
