- In Angola, 120 new cholera cases and four deaths have been reported in the last 24 hours - as of 22 March- resulting in a cumulative 8,411 cases and 322 deaths across 14 provinces, with a global case fatality rate of 3.8%.
- The high population density and inadequate sanitation conditions have accelerated the spread of the disease with a risk of expansion to neighbouring countries with Namibia having reported its first case. Angola faces its largest cholera outbreak since 2006, more than 67,000 cases.
- In Mozambique, the Ministry of Health reported 57 new cholera cases in the last 24 hours - as of 24 March - bringing the total to 2,035 cases and 46 fatalities since October 2024. The most affected provinces are Nampula (87% of cases) and Zambézia (13%) with a case fatality rate of 2.4%. Additionally, tropical cyclone Jude has severely impacted health facilities, disrupting access to essential medical services.
