Over 4 million square metres of land demined

Ondjiva – Over 4 million square metres of land were demined in the southern Cunene Province, throughout the year 2011, by the National Demining Institute (INAD), the provincial head of the mentioned organ, Pedro Severino Seteco, has announced.

He said that the clearance activity took place on the land reserve of Ombadja.

Pedro Seteco also mentioned the conclusion of the demining process on 82 kilometres of the Xangongo/Onassalama road, located inland Ombadja Municipality.

The source also announced that throughout the year were also seized various explosive devices, such as ammunitions and anti-tank mines.
