As of 28 July, the Ministry of Health has reported a total of 368 cases and 323 deaths from Marburg haemorrhagic fever in Angola. 157 cases were laboratory confirmed.
The team is currently following-up 45 contacts in the municipality of Songo, Uige Province. The team continues to receive and investigate alerts to potential cases. Clinical specimens from alerts are shipped to the Special Pathogens Program, Public Health Agency of Canada, for testing.
