Namibe - Some 2,500 zink sheets were handed over on Thursday, to the victims of floods at Saco-Mar locality, 10 kilometres off Namibe City, by the oil company Esso, ANGOP has learnt.
At the act, Namibe Province governor, Cândida Celeste da Silva, expressed her satisfaction at the gesture of the mentioned company in assisting those families.
"The provincial government has been doing its best, but we are still calling on the different entities to collaborate with the state, providing their solidarity and helping the victimised families that due to the force of nature have lost their belongings", he said.
Esso's official in charge in Namibe, Mondlane Pereira, said that the gesture aims at helping the local government in supporting those families, with highlight to those ones settled in Saco-Mar locality.
