Menongue - The provincial government of Cuando Cubango, through the local coordination of Action against Landmines, will hold on Thursday in Menongue, the 2nd plenary session with the objective of assessing the progress of the activities of the sector in the last years.
According to a press note that reached Angop on Wednesday, the plenary, to approve the Operative Plan of Cuando Cubango for 2015-2016 for the sector of Action against Landmines, will be chaired by the provincial governor, Francisco Higino Lopes Carneiro.
The event, to take place at amphitheatre of the provincial government premises, will count on the methodological guidance of the National Inter-sectorial Commission for Demining and Humanitarian Assistance (CNIDAH) and technical assistance of CIVI.POL.
The meeting will also discuss topics such as the current situation of the sector of the Action against Landmines in the country, which will be addressed by a representative of the National Intersectorial Commission for Demining and Humanitarian Assistance and the current situation of gender in Cuando Cubango, a representative of the local coordination of Action against Landmines and demining operators in the region.
The agenda equally includes the presentation of the Operational Biennial Plan in Cuando Cubango, which after analysis and discussion in plenary, it will be approved for subsequent implementation.
The event will be attended by provincial delegates and directors, municipal administrators, representative of Angolan Armed Forces (FAA), representatives of the Executive Commission for Demining Cuando Cubango, namely heads of demining brigades of FAA, Angolan Border Police and INAD.
The plenary will also count on the participation of officials and cadres of the provincial government of Cuando Cubango, as well as NGOs, chieftains and religious entities.
