Huambo – At least 25 staff of the central Huambo province Landmine Action Commission and administration personnel are since Tuesday attending a training programme to improve their landmine action and demining skills.
The four-day CNIDAH course is also intended to improve the staff’s knowledge of the types of the landmines and unexploded ordnances, types of demining operations, landmine risk education and assistance to victims.
Such topics as landmine action management, geographic information system and database, are also on the agenda of the seminar being attended by personnel from Huambo Landmine Action Commission and representatives of municipal administrations.
Speaking to Angop, the Provincial Landmine Action Commission liaison officer, Jorge Raposo Leonel Maria, said the training is intended to boost the provincial coordination and revitalise the focal points with the administrations and concerned departments of the region.
