Angola/Kuando Kubango: Ruling MPLA assists rain victims

Menongue, 03/12 - The First Provincial Secretary of the ruling MPLA party in the south Kuando Kubango province, Jo=E3o Fernando Mucanda handed over, over the weekend, foodstuffs and used clothes to the population affected by rains in the Boa Vida ward, Menongue city, foreseeing to minimise their difficulties.

The citizens benefited, among others, from mealie meal, cooking oil and rice.

Jo=E3o Mucanda said that the initiative is to cover all regions affected by the torrential rains that have been falling lately.

Through the National Civil Protection Commission, the central Government has been supporting those affected with various means.

At the moment, the referred commission works in Kuando Kubango province, where tents and other accommodation means are being set up in the outskirts of Menongue city in order to shelter the victims.
