Angola/Huambo: Rain displaces 50 families in Katchiungo district

Katchiungo - About 50 families of Salupembe, Vintecente and Caputa wards, 62 kilometres east of Huambo city were made homeless as a result of the windy rain that fell in the region last Tuesday.

According to a traditional authority of the district, Albino Malengue, the rain destroyed 50 residences and did not claim any human life.

Local traditional and religious entities expressed concern about the situation and appealed to the government of central Huambo province to assist the families affected by this natural disaster.
