Angola/Cunene: Demobilised soldiers get agricultural products

Ondjiva, 06/16 - A group of demobilised soldiers from the Luena Memorandum of Understanding (Moxico) in the southern Cunene province, benefited this Saturday, in Ondjiva city, from products and means to foment agriculture for a quick social-professional reintegration.

The initiative that counts on the financing of the Government and implementation of the Agency of Co-operation and Research for Development (ACORD) made up by seeds, plough, hoes and cattle for cattle rearing.

The project is also part of the Programme of Reintegration and General Development (PGDR), started in the year 2005.

According to the co-ordinator of ACORD Project, Brígida Pitra, from the beginning of the year the programme already extended a total of 399 former UNITA soldiers linked to the agricultural boosting sector, thus, assisting 557 demobilised soldiers and their respective families until 2007.
