farmers of Katabola district, 50 kilometres to the east of Kuito city (southern
Bié province) grouped into 25 co-operatives and agricultural associations,
benefited in the current campaign from 60,225 tonnes of various seeds.
According to the Administrator of Katabola
village, Gabriel Hinse, amongst the distributed seeds include 50 tonnes
of the European "zea maize" type, 27,000 tonnes of beans.
Still to foment agriculture and reduce the scantiness of around 5,560 people repatriated from Zambia, Namibia and DR Congo, the agriculture sector offered them 51 hectares of land for planting various products.
