Angola: US NGO offers wheelchairs to disabled in Viana

Viana, 06/13 (Angop) - Viana's Orthopeadic Centre for Rehabilitation in Luanda has received today at least 250 wheelchairs offered by a US Non-governmental Organisation, International Wheelchair Foundation.

The donation was handed to the management of the centre by the representative of the Church of Jesus of Last Days, Seeven Snow, in a ceremony witnessed by the administrator of Viana district, J=FAlio de Carvalho.

On the occasion, the beneficiary institution's director-general, Salom=E3o Capunje, congratulated himself with the gesture and said that the means will help to reduce the difficulties in the locomotion of the disabled people.

During the act, about 20 handicapped, among them 15 children, benefited from the wheel-chairs, thus symbolising the beginning of the distribution process.

The International Wheelchair Foundation will, also this month, hand over 250 wheelchairs to the orthopeadic centre of Kwanza-Sul province.
