Angola: Serbia Montenegro donates medicines to help fight Marburg

Luanda, 07/18 - At least three tonnes and 859 kilograms of medicines and wastable material were handed over today to the Health Ministry by Serbia and Montenegro ambassador to Angola, to help fight the deadly virus of Marburg.

The donation, that arrived in Luanda on July 1st, is fruit of a campaign with the HEMOFARM, a medicines factory of Vrsac town, Serbia, and with the Angolan embassy in Belgrade, to help the Southern African country's authorities to combat this heamorraghic fever, that claimed nearly 400 lives, since its outbreak last October.

The means received by the Minister of Health, Sebasti=E3o Veloso, were handed over by Serbia and Montenegro ambassador, Dobrivoj Kacanski, who announced the arrival, soon, of a new humanitarian aid to fight tuberculosis, malaria, HIV/Aids and orthopaedic material for landmines' victims.
