Angola: Over 900 citizens expelled from DRC reintegrated

Caxito - At least 380 families, comprising 990 people, expelled from the Democratic Republic of Congo were reintegrated last weekend in their area of origin in northern Bengo province, said a source of Social Welfare.

The Social Welfare director in Bengo, Anastácia Chilombo Vasconcelos, told the press at the end of the first meeting held by the local executive that from this number 188 people have been resettled in the districts of Nambuangongo, Ambriz (601), Dande (191), Pango-Aluquém (05) and Icolo e Bengo (05), respectively.

According to the source, 1,630 citizens repatriated from DRC have been concentrated since last year at sheltering centre of Lifune, Kicabo commune, in district of Dande, Bengo province.

Anastácia Vasconcelos pledged her government's commitment to continue providing aid to the expelled families.
