Ndalatando - About 122, 569 citizens of various districts of Kwanza Norte Province are benefiting for the last two years of potable water, as part of 17 projects implemented, among water points and supply systems, as part of the governmental programme
dubbed "Water for Al)", under way since 2007.
In an interview to ANGOP, the head of the water department of the local provincial board of energy and waters, Silvestre Troém Zangui, stated being a primary objective the increase of the supply of this product to the population to cover until 2012 at least 80 percent of rural
zones and 100 percent at urban areas aimed at contributing to reduction of poverty and hunger.
In Kwanza Norte, the programme started in 2009 having enabled the construction of 12 small supply systems and coverage of holes in 20 localities of the province.
In nine of the districts coverage was achieved through distribution of potable water in 42 percent of the rural population until the end of that year.
According to the official, installation of small water supply systems, public baths, fountains, rehabilitation and construction of new boreholes are other benefits that the "Water for All" project is providing to rural communities.
