Luanda - The Angolan Agrarian Development
Institute (IDA) will receive on Saturday an aid from Japan consisting of
9,139 tons of assorted fertilisers, meant to increase food production.
An official with IDA, Joaquim Duarte,
said the donation delivery to be made by a visiting Japanese delegation
which reached Angola on Tuesday, will take place at Viana suburb in Luanda.
The fertilisers will be distributed to farmers in 12 of the 18 provinces of the country, except those on the East.
According to Joaquim Duarte, the aid is under the bilateral cooperation existing between Angola and Japan, which foresees an annual financing of more than one million dollars for purchase of working tools.
He said the 4-strong Japanese delegation is representing the "Jics-Japon International Corporation System".
