Angola: Italians donate medicines to fight Marburg fever

Roma, 16/06 - Over 5,000 boxes of medicines and medical materials was donated Thursday in Lanciano city (Italy) to fight marburg haemorrhagic fever, hitting the Northern Uije Province, since last October.

The gift came from Chieti population, at Abruzzo region, in Italy, and was handed over to the Charge d'affaires of the Angolan embassy to Italy, Isabel Feijo.

The donation results from a campaign, following a call done by the local catholic church in favour to the victimes of Margurg virus, that has already killed more than 350 people.

The authorities of Uije and Chieti have been workin for the gemination of the two Provinces and in the framework of this move will be identified actions which may provide reciprocal advantages in the domains of health, education, culture and industry.
