Angola: Government will build 21 schools

Sumbe, 03/07 - About 12,960 children in Angola's coastal Kwanza-Sul province will be inserted in the education system this year with the construction of at least 21 schools in the province's distinct municipalities and communes under the local government's Public Investments Programme.
The programme of Kwanza-Sul provincial government, for the year 2003, aims the construction, rehabilitation and furnishing of one school in each headquarters of Ebo, Kassongue, Quibala, Kilenda, Mussende, Sumbe and Wako-kungo municipalities.

Of the province's 36 communes, only 15 will have primary schools, including the teachers' residence. The 21 schools to be built and rehabilitated will cost nearly USD 2.6 million.

Speaking to Angop on Friday, the provincial director of Kwanza-Sul for Education, Mr Pedro Sabino Verissimo, highlighted the construction and furnishing of a primary school with six class rooms, at Ebo municipality and one secundary school, with six class rooms in Quibala district. (Source: ANGOP)
