Luanda, 03/08 - The Angolan Government
will finance the execution of a demining programme countrywide in order
to avoid accidents and bring life back normal. The decision was announced
on Friday in Luanda by the Cabinet Council Standing Commission, during
a meeting chaired by the Head of State Jose Eduardo dos Santos. Priority
will be given to areas sheltering people affected by the armed conflict,
signalling of mining areas plus demining operation.
For this task, the Government will work
with Non-Governmental Organizations, and former fighters who worked in
engineering.
According to the Angolan Social Welfare Minister, Joao Baptista Kussumua, priority is for the regions where war was more intense. (Source: ANGOP)
