Angola: Former UNITA soldiers get cattle for animal traction

Bailundo, 08/02 - About 535 former soldiers of UNITA received on Monday, at Bailundo village, 82 kilometres north off Huambo city, about 135 heads of cattle for animal traction, in an action carried out by the Government that aims the socio-economic reintegration of the demobilised.

The hand over programme of cattle to UNITA ex-soldiers is financed by the World Bank and it will allow the extension of cultivating areas.

So far there are over 5,000 former soldiers of UNITA and their families who were already contemplated by the programme.
