A series of combats took place in May in the Cabinda province of Angola, between the Angolan Armed Forces and the Front for the Liberation of the Enclave of Cabinda (FLEC). Combats took place in Belize and Buco-Zau Municipalities, but also in the Democratic Republic of Congo.
There were 4 deaths recorded by FLEC, 18 by Angolan Armed Force and 12 deaths of civilians. This is the deadliest year since 2016, with intensified combats after a cease fire announced in April.
