Kuito, 07/20 - The population of
Cassumbi commune, in the municipality of Andulo (central Bie Province),
has a new medical centre that has the capacity to attend about 50 patients
per day, which has recently been offered by the non governmental organisation,
Care International.
According to Care International's official
in charge of this organisation's Health Project in Bie, Isaias Cambissa,
the health centre has been built with local material, whose construction
is estimated at 4,682 US dollars.
To respond to the needs of the people in this locality, the referred organisation has equipped the centre with diagnosis machines, as well as other necessary materials, and 19 health technicians that will secure the medical assistance.
Isaias Cambissa has expressed his concern about the health situation in Cassumbi, which in his opinion is problematic, because there has been an increase in the rate of diseases such as malaria, respiratory diseases and acute diarrhoea, as well as intestinal problems.
He appealed to other organisations to intervene in other distant localities of this province, mainly in the health sector, so as to reduce the death rate, mainly in children.
