Kuito, 07/30 - Seventeen people
died of tuberculosis during the first quarter of this year at the "Sanatorio"
Hospital of Angola's central Bie province, the director general of the
hospital, said today.
According to Fernanda Rafael, 315 cases
were recorded in the first six months. The official added that most of
the patients suffering from tuberculosis are from Kamacupa, Katabola, Chinguar
and Tchetembo districts.
Currently, the hospital controls 323 patients.
The hospital, that has a capacity for 140 patients, counts on the aid of Doctors Without Frontier from Belgium in the supply of medicines.
