Since January 1, 2016:

  • 606 suspect cases (EHR data only)

  • 17 confirmed through laboratory testing (8 pregnant)

Response Activities:

  • Island clean-up: group gathering to pick up breeding sources of the mosquito; removal of large appliance breeding sites

  • Testing of symptomatic pregnant women and suspect cases by Hawaii State Lab and CDC

  • Maintenance and update of surveillance registry of all pregnant women in AS and distribution of ZPK kits at LBJ and DOH Clinics

  • Supporting and fortifying syndromic surveillance system for the current outbreak

  • Development and implementation of communications strategy

  • Reinforcing the Unified Health Command to coordinate activities
