This report provides insights into the profiles, experiences, needs, routes travelled and intentions of migrants transiting through the Western Balkans. IOM surveyed 660 migrants from 1 to 31 December 2025 in Albania, Bosnia and Herzegovina (BiH), Montenegro, North Macedonia, Serbia and Kosovo.1 The report is structured into three main sections: The countries of origin of the migrants, the routes taken and the countries they transited through, and their intended destination countries.
