PROGRAMME
In November, 1.6 million beneficiaries (46 percent of the plan) were assisted with 21,706 MT of food (65 percent of the plan).
WFP reached fewer beneficiaries than planned due to a break in the pipeline of biscuits to implement school feeding in all planned schools.
Seventy seven percent of the beneficiaries were assisted through recovery activities and 23 percent through relief activities.
Winterization
Food is pre-positioned to ensure continued food assistance in remote areas that become inaccessible during winter. Some 19,800 MT (86 percent of the plan) of mixed food has been pre-positioned for distribution during the winter months to targeted beneficiaries mainly through food-for-work interventions. Pre-positioning is expected to be completed by the end of December 2004.
