SITUATION OVERVIEW

Cross-border violence and air and ground strikes have affected 52 districts across 11 provinces as of 5
March, resulting in an estimated 20,000 displaced families. This escalation, since 26 February, has
significantly compounded existing vulnerabilities, as many of the affected districts were already facing
severe food insecurity. More than half of these districts are classified at Emergency (IPC Phase
4) levels of hunger, while five of the affected provinces are experiencing Critical (IPC Acute Malnutrition Phase 4) levels of malnutrition. As a result, affected populations are in urgent need of emergency food and nutrition assistance.
