In September 2019, WFP reached a total of 851,879 people with 8,447 metric tons of food and US$ 939,361 in cash-based transfers to cover food needs in 31 out of 34 provinces. This included 200,340 highly vulnerable people who received seasonal support in five provinces. With the end of the drought response, WFP is now focusing on delivering in-kind food assistance to communities that were not selected for the drought response and are both hard-to-reach and demonstrate high levels of food insecurity. Asset creation activities as part of WFP’s programming at the humanitarian-development-peace nexus supported 148,224 food insecure people.
