Highlights

  • South Asia experienced a year of severe and overlapping crises, including climate related floods, landslides, cyclones, droughts, extreme heat, and earthquakes, alongside major public health emergencies and protracted man-made shocks marked by conflict related violence and cross-border dynamics.
  • UNICEF reached 22.5 million crisis affected people through life-saving health, nutrition, WASH, education and protection services in Afghanistan, Bangladesh, Pakistan, Nepal and Sri Lanka.
  • UNICEF strengthened national preparedness and response systems and advanced locally led, accountable and disability inclusive humanitarian action, with stronger youth engagement and links to social protection.
  • In 2025, UNICEF received US$13.4 million against its regional Humanitarian Action for Children (HAC) appeal of US$34.2 million.
