Highlights

  • In 2025, Afghanistan remains one of the world’s most complex humanitarian crises, with 22.9 million people, including 12 million children, in need of assistance.
  • In February, over 2.1 million children were screened for wasting, out of which 42,263 (61 per cent girls) were admitted for outpatient treatment, while 2,883 children with severe wasting and medical complications were referred for inpatient care.
  • A total of 37,735 children aged 9 -59 months have been vaccinated against measles as part of outbreak-response immunization activities in the country.
  • UNICEF and partners reached 68,707 children and community members with explosive ordnance risk education during the reporting month.
