Highlights
• In August, 1,015,925 children were screened for wasting, out of which 57,289 (58 per cent girls) were admitted for outpatient treatment, while 5,934 children with severe wasting and medical complications were referred for inpatient care.
• 182,834 children and caregivers (31 per cent girls and women), including 522 children with disabilities, accessed child protection, prevention, risk mitigation and response services. Of these, 161,585 individuals benefited from mental health and psychosocial support through child-friendly spaces, health facilities, transitional care centers, and schools.
• UNICEF engaged with more than 746,237 individuals (33 per cent women) working through various community structures and networks to foster the adoption of positive practices. This focussed on the prevention of malnutrition, promotion of immunization, mental wellbeing, prevention of acute watery diarrhoea, safe handling and treatment of drinking water, avoiding open defaecation and practicing of personal and household hygiene.
