On Sunday, June 1, two staff members of the Aga Khan Foundation Afghanistan were killed when their vehicle went over an explosive device while travelling between Wardooj and Baharak in the country’s northern Badakhshan Province.
"We are shocked and saddened by the deaths of our colleagues who were working to improve the quality of life of the people of Afghanistan. Our thoughts and prayers are with their families at this time of loss," said Nurjehan Mawani, Diplomatic Representative of the Aga Khan Development Network Afghanistan.
The circumstances of the incident are being investigated.
