Return from Pakistan
A total of 400 undocumented Afghans spontaneously returned or were de-ported from Pakistan through the Turkham (Nangarhar) and Spin Boldak (Kandahar) border crossings from 21—27 Jan 2018, according to the Border Monitoring Team of the Directorate of Refugees and Repatriation (DoRR). Of the total returnees, 370 were spontaneous returnees and 30 were de-ported. This number marks a 8% decrease compared to the previous week (433). The total number of undocumented Afghan returnees from Pakistan since 01 January 2018 is now 1,573. IOM provided post-arrival assistance to 91% of undocumented Afghan returnees from Pakistan (363 individuals), including 250 individuals in poor families, 111 individuals in single parent families and 2 special cases. The assistance provided includes meals, accom-modation, basic medical screening, Non-Food Items (NFIs), onward trans-portation cash grants and referral services, as well as support from partners.
