Return from Iran

According to the Border Monitoring Team of the Directorate of Refugees and Repatriation (DoRR), a total of 13,480 undocumented Afghans spontaneously returned or were deported from Iran through the Milak (Nimroz) and Herat (Islam Qala) border crossings between 14-20 April 2019, 26% less than in the previous week (18,251). 5,902 returned voluntarily, 7,578 were deported. This brings the total number of undocumented returnees from Iran since 01 January 2019 to 139,103. IOM provided post-arrival humanitarian assistance to 410 (3%) undocumented Afghans deported from Iran at its Transit Centers in Nimroz and Herat, including 73 Unaccompanied Migrant Children, 16 Medical Cases, 61 members of Single Parent Families, 26 Physically Disabled, 14 Special Cases, 18 Unaccompanied Elderly, 40 Drug Addicted, 42 members of a Poor Family, 4 Single Female and 113 members of deported families.
