ISLAMABAD, Jun 11, 2005 (Xinhua via COMTEX) -- The Pakistani government Saturday handed over 42 more buses to the Afghan government as part of its contribution to the reconstruction in Afghanistan, according to the Associated Press of Pakistan.
At a graceful ceremony held in Peshawar, capital of the North West Frontier province, keys of the buses were handed to an Afghan diplomat.
Pakistan has announced the provision of 100 buses to Afghanistan, out of which 35 had been delivered and with the delivery of the 42 buses, Afghanistan has received 77 buses so far. The remaining 23 buses will be delivered by the end of this month.
Pakistan has pledged 100 million US dollars for Afghanistan's reconstruction and undertaken a number of projects in roads, health and education sectors in the war-torn country.
