Inauguration of 59 utility projects in Herat province

The 59 sub projects completed in Pashtonzarghon district of Herat province will enable approximately 6000 thousand and 260 rural families to have access to basic services.

According to Aqa Mohammad Sedeqi, Rural Rehabilitation and Development Director of that province these projects include: eight water supply networks, five community centers, 17 culverts, three electricity projects, retaining walls, safe driking water wells, construction of irrigation systems, gravelling of roads and public baths .

The aforementioned projects have been completed through the National Solidarity Programme (NSP) of the Ministry of Rural Rehabilitation and Development (MRRD) at a cost of nearly AFN 70 million in the villages of Pashtonzarghon district. The communities have also given a 10% contribution towards the finalization of these projects.

From the commencement of 1391 more than 500 development projects of National Solidarity Program have been implemented and handed-over in various districts of Herat province.
