Kabul, Afghanistan - Six new classrooms are now open at Bagnazarga school in Herat, thanks to the work of the Herat Provincial Reconstruction Team. The main building was constructed in 2005, but still needed new classrooms due to the increase of the number of children interested in attending school.
The project to build the permanent classrooms was accomplished by local contractors, guided by the CIMIC (Civilian and Military Cooperation) department of the ISAF PRT.
Projects such as these demonstrate that the Herat PRT has not only increased the number of schools in the area, but also assists and improves existing ones.
The project has been financed by the Italian Defence Ministry.
